Club Overview and Structure

TriCats organizational structure is based on an [officer], [coach], and [committee] relationship, where [officers] manage core functions, [coaches] manage training plans, and [committees] manage non core functions.

Officer functions include:
Communicate Club Goals
Maintaining Official Club Status
Managing the Constitution
Completing Mandatory Paperwork
Managing the Roster
Organizing Meetings
Managing the Budget
Managing Coaches
Managing Committees
Maintaining the Website and Listserv

Coach functions include:
Fielding technical questions about training plan
Writing workout plans for the year
Advising Race Schedule

Committee functions include:
Sponsorship
Event
Social
Fundraiser
Order

Sponsorship Committee:

Rec Center Responsibilities
• None at this point

TriCat Responsibilities
• Keep Website updated with logos and what each sponsor offers us
• Keep up with contracts
• Search for new sponsors
• Make sure that our sponsors are properly represented: uniforms, events, flyers
• At the end of the year come up with a “thank you for your support” gift (last year we made plaques
• Obtain pictures of the team for thank you letters to send out to our donators from letter writing campaign

Publicity Representative
• Update team at meetings
• Communicate with other committees
• Communicate with officers
• Manage the committee – make sure things are done on time! (If you need help talk to the officers!)

Event Committee:

Rec Center Responsibilities
• Submit Event Registration Form (for every event that a TriCat attends)
• Submit and obtain Deans excuses
• Submit Drivers Form

TriCat Responsibilities
• Keep team up dated about upcoming races including Triathlons, swimming, cycling and running events.
Provide fliers and or post a link on the website to the event home page so that we have easy access to registration
If an event provides volunteer opportunities etc.
1. Inform team of such opportunities and
2. Work with Fundraiser committee to decide whether or not such an opportunity would be beneficial to make it a
fundraiser. (For example Ironman Arizona)
• Plan Nationals
Travel (airfare and bike transportation)
Lodging
Register Team (work with Krystle to do this)

• Communicate with officers

Social Committee:
Rec Center Responsibilities
• None at this point

TriCat Responsibilities
• Plan a monthly social
Work out details
• Plan a large group trip for spring (ex. Grand Canyon camping trip)
• Plan events with other teams, groups etc.
• End of the year Banquet

Fundraiser Committee:

• Submit Fundraiser Request Form
• Submit Facilities reservation Form

TriCat Responsibilities
• Plan Fundraisers (carwashes, selling old uniforms, new ideas!!!)
o Set dates
o Find locations
o Post
o Purchase necessary materials (submit a funds request form the Krystle)
• Events:
o Aquathlon (information posted on the website!)
o Letter writing campaign
• Advertise to community!

You may want to create some sub committees within the fundraiser committee. For example:
• Ideas: new ideas, find more opportunities
• Logistics: location, dates obtain materials
• Advertising: create flyers, got out into community
