RED: Tuesday Shootout (6:15 form University and Euclid) or Mission/Ajo/Kinney/Gates Pass Loop. Be able to and comfortable riding in a fast pack if you go on the group ride. Hard efforts. 1:40-2:00. WHITE: Ride W on St Mary's to the top of Gates Pass. If you have more time, loop through Starr Pass neighborhood. Moderate effort (5 on scale of 10), somewhat harder on the hills (7). 1:15-1:30 BLUE: Recommend ride loops on the Mall in a pack to practice group and pack riding. 0:30-0:45. If there aren't enough of you for this, ride 0:40-1:00 on then roads. Follow WHITE out to Starr Pass area and do the Greasewood/Starr Pass/Players Club/Anklam loop. | ||

There is going to be free food for everyone and it will be a general good time. This is going to be the first real opportunity that is non-workout related for all of us to get to know each other. If you are thinking about buying a bike, either through TriSports or otherwise, there will be free bike fits to make sure that you get the right size. If you are a beginner, TriSports staff are hosting the following clinics to get you up to speed quickly: Swim (Kim) - Swim Equipment (paddles, kickboards, pull buoys, snorkels), Wetsuits, using a pace clock in training, open-water swimming, general freestyle technique and important stroke mechanics Bike (Evan) - General bike maintenance, rules of the road, difference between tri and road bikes, and difference in components, riding in a group, general bike fit Run (Sarah) - types of foot strike, pronation and finding the correct shoes, common injuries and injury prevention, run drills and training techniques. Nutrition (Mike)- nutrition for different types of training, proper use of nutrition in training, supplements, race day nutrition, symptoms of nutrition deficiencies/ dehydration Race Day Preparation (Billy) - Walk through the steps you take from the time you wake up until the race is over. Show how you set up your transitions most effectively, talk about proper race etiquette, different options for carrying nutrition, aero helmets and race wheels, what to wear for a race Triathlon Training (Brian)- Training cycles, basic triathlon training, importance of heart rate in training, heart rate v. power, lactic acid testing…anything else you want to include | ||
