Thanks to all who participated in the 2008 City of Tucson
Parks & Recreation Summer Aquathlon Series. Championship Race results
as well as results of the "Dynamic Duo" Challenge will be posted at www.swimandrun.com (as soon as my
webmaster has a chance to do so ;)
As always, feedback is welcome and if you have any
suggestions or comments with regards to the series, registration, championship
race or any other aspect of the aquathlons, please feel free to respond to
this email.
Newsflash!!! Course records fell this summer!!!
The course records listed on the event website reflect the old course which
went all the way around the park (on the bike path) and did not reflect a true
5k. Even as recently as 2004, the course was shorter than the current
course. Therefore, in the future, we will consistently use the course as
measured and the new course records are:
Robert Seaman - Run - 16:37
Karen Walls - Run - 19:34
Kosuke Amano - Total Time - 26:43
Karen Walls - Total Time - 30:49
Congrats to all who participated in the Series
Championship. As mentioned, we like to "mix it up" a bit for
the final race and it seemed as though everyone who participated had a great
time.
Next spring look out for annoucements about our monthly
spring tune-up races, Summer 2009 schedule as well as information
regarding weekend swim clinics for those needing some work on their swimming
prior to summer 2009.
