Is the trisports aqathlon our aquathlon?? and in that case I thought it was on that Saturday??? like always on a saturday. Anyway let me know because I would have to tell my mom the flight she scheduled is totally off... :S (which is why I asked about the aquathlon months ago too :P)
I'm a new member of tricats and I'd like to run or bike before the 8th when the new member meeting is, but I can't post a new topic... So I decided to write this here. Are there any runs/work outs I can do before actual practice starts? My name is Andrew Nolan, I'm a freshman, have done two small sprint triathlons. Thanks,
hey andrew, welcome. yes, there are several workouts you can attend. they are posted on the main page of the website. just type in the website address, scroll down underneath the picture and you'll see a 'general workout schedule' that several have been following recently. we will have structured workouts designed by our coach brian grasky (go to graskyendurance.com if you want to read up on him) once the training gets rolling, but for now we are all just showing up and collectively deciding something or doing our own distances/pace at these workouts.
the tues/thurs. runs are at reid park and begin at mile marker 0 (we just meet in the parking lot around there--this is close to the baseball stadium). all swims are at the rec center pool on campus and bikes (at least tues/weds) begin at the flagpole in front of Old Main on campus. The bike and run for sat./sun. might be at any location, but that is usually posted on the discussion forum before hand. Last week, for example, we just decided to meet at the flagpole for the bike and reid park for the run, but in the past we have driven out to star pass or river path for some runs and places around saguaro east or mt. lemmon for the bike ride.
I'm new to this group and am training for the Lake Powell Triathalon. Has anyone done that one before and know if a road bike or mountain bike would be best for that one. I'm not familiar with the terain there. Second, I don't have a road bike yet! and can't afford a real expensive one right now. Is anyone selling one or know where I can get a good price on renting one for the race?
