Homework Help

So, do we have any people that are really good with differential equations?  I've got a homework assignment that none of my classmates have been able to figure out and neither could several math grad students (because they all did theoretical work).  So, here it is. The coefficient matrices consist of non-zero, positive constants, and I have to solve the system for an x(t) vector.  Thanks

Here's a scanned image of the system of equations:

(that's a g for the acceleration due to gravity tucked in there on the right side)

If someone figures it out and is willing to show me the light, my number is 520-256-1996.

you need to create a new

you need to create a new variable y=x'. your system is function of x,y and y' and thats easier to solve. good luck ;-)

I actually found a book that taught me how.  Thanks a lot though.  That's exactly what I needed to do.
