Does anyone want to form a riding group in the Phoenix area? We could even do 1x week on South Mountain together or something. I am not familiar with routes in this area so it would be nice to have others with me.

I would love to! I've ridden south mountain a few times this summer, and there is an around the mountain ride that i hear is pretty popular.
I'm working fully time this summer, but could ride Saturday and Sunday.

Hey! I am up in the Scottsdale are for the summer. I don't really have a set schedule but me and a couple buddies have been riding most days of the week starting at about 6. Paradise valley has some gorgeous roads, with some easy to kill yourself hills. There are long flat rides north of the city. There are canals to run and a few pools to do laps. let me know if anyone wants to go for some rides!

hey geoff, i ride just about every morning in phoenix/scottsdale/pv area starting at 530-6ish. finally getting the hang of some routes through that part of town, and up north (cavecreek/carefree area) is super nice too. i'd be down to ride with you and your buddies every once in a while. i live around the 51 and shea but could meet up with you guys wherever. gimme a call or text and let me know your next ride or somethin - 602-980-9895.

Jenna, You want to ride south mountain on Sunday like 6:30 or 7ish? Riding up to the towers then to san Juan from the parking loot should take around 1.5 hours.
I think I'm going to ride with a group from a bike shop on Saturday...it supposedly leaves from the park and ride on pecos and 40th at 6am if you want to join

1. Chris you are just a peach and I appreciate the compliment.
2. I am doing a ride tomorrow morn. around six:thirty (Sean I like your style) up into cave creek if anyone is down give me a call 602-819-1025. I ride with kind of a laid back group and will prob do about 30 miles.
3. Some of my friends and I have started to play volleyball in the evenings (great cross training and a way to get friendly competitive). There really isn't a schedule of when we go, but anyone is welcome to join and I can shoot people texts if I know they are down. I know we are playing tonight if anyone has interest.
4. I like the fact that we are all discussing training (I guess like we should be on this forum), but I have been doing some alternative liquid carb loading and miscellaneous nocturnal bad decisions, and if any of the Phoenix kids are looking for something to do on the weekends give me a call and we can set something up.

p.s. I stopped at REI for some things and they have a "gel/bar of the month" promotion where they pick a random company and sell their gels for $.79 and bars for $1. I am at a point in my life where I am more concerned about price than brand loyalty, and my eyes lit up like a kid's on their holiday celebration of choice (my attempt to be "PC") when I saw this deal.

Ok we play pretty far north (Frank Lloyd Wright and the 101). Anyone is more than welcome to come. I will try to post times and dates when I get them, but it is usually a spur of the moment thing. Let me know if you want me to give you a call when we go!
