I was driving home from the track tonight after staying far too long, and thinking way to much about the people who are going to be leaving for the summer/forever... Found myself listening to some Jack Johnson driving back to my house watching a beautiful sunset, and realized, for maybe the first time, how special this group of people is. It's so much more than training. I found myself thinking how lame this summer is going to be, and how much I can't wait for next year to start (as crazy as that sounds). To those of you coming back: have wonderful summers, and keep up that training! Thank you for letting me call some of the shots this year, and sticking by me when it really counted.
To those of you graduating/moving on... This year was like a dream, there is no amount of words that would express my joy and thankfulness that each and every one of you were able to touch my life in such a special way. I know that when I look back 30 years down the road and all the experiences that have shaped my life, my interaction with this club, and with you guys this year, is going to be right up there. Thank you for being a part (whether for a semester or 4+ years) of what is something that I sincerely will stay with you forever.
