This is who I have so far that has volunteered for Soma. We still need 8 more people. It is important that we get these 8 people not only because we will need the help but also because we are getting paid to have 15 people there. We have alot of TriCats who are racing and this a great race to watch!

yeah, my vote is for hotel. don't want to camp before a half. i think jessica said something about being able to stay at her place. i'd be down for going up friday or earlyish saturday. so seems like at least there is interest for a hotel.

If I could get a count of how many people need a place to stay on Saturday night, I may be able to offer up my place in Scottsdale. If my parents arent going to be there I can offer up 3 rooms with beds, a few couches and plenty of floor space. I would be willing to go on Saturday afternoon so I can open up my house to you all! My house is about a 20min drive on the freeway from Tempe, really not bad at all, and early in the morning it will probably be even quicker. Send me a PM if you are interested!

For those opting for a hotel, a few of us (me, Matt W., and Neil so far) are going to be staying at the Sleep Inn a few miles from Tempe Town Lake. $70 for a room with two double beds through hotels.com.

I would definitely be down

I would definitely be down to stay at somebody's house. A little easier to have a fatty carbolicious dinner, but you can still have a great carb dinner at a hotel. I wouldn't mind going up on Friday and going up Saturday early works for me too. I could use a ride and I have a bike too.

Lee is doing the hotel thing with us as well. So its not like we have "extra" space for anyone to stay, but we'd love some more tricats who want a hotel close to the race site to grab a room at the Sleep Inn.

Im planning on volunteering and it would be great if I could get a ride from someone. I can help out with gas and such and if ppl are planning on getting rooms for sat night, I can pitch it for that too.

if you volunteer make sure

if you volunteer make sure to try and take some gels or cases of gels back with you after the race. i know people scored a few cases last year. we're still eating those gels at my house.

Brian my car is full but Ben A. is driving as well. We are all meeting at the parking lot infront of CVS on Grant between Park and 1st. We will load our cars from there. We are planning on meeting at 5am so we are in phoenix ready to go by 7 am. I will send pms to everyone who is volunteering later this week when the race director sends me more details.

We will be meeting in the parking lot that is in front of the CVS on Grant between Park and 1st. (There is a McDonalds on the corner and a Checkers Auto in the same shopping center) We want everyone to be there by 5am so we can get to Phoenix by 7am to set up. Right now we have two cars driving up. Mine (Emily, Rachel, Ariel, BobbieLee, Melissa, Stephanie and...) Ben (Mandy and Brian) We are going to play it by ear as to when people need to go back. If someone needs to get home right away we can just pick up Subway or wahtever and head back but last year we went to Uno's and had lunch then headed back. A lot of this will depend on exactly what time we are finished. We have been told we will be done by 3pm.

Is anyone leaving Tucson Saturday evening, or night? I can't volunteer but I have the option to go see some family this weekend in Phoenix and get a ride back with them on Sunday. So, just seeing if there is an empty seat I could fill up on the way up there, thanks!
