Tricat(s) of the Week: Andy Wyatt and Eugene Quackenbush, for doing bottle swaps for El Tour.
After a few El Tour stories, we moved on to fundraising. Upcoming events:
1. Santa Barbara Ice Cream is doing two percentage nights for us on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7. Tell your friends and make them buy ice cream.
2. Something is happening on Dec. 1. The FR committee has planned a car wash, time and place TBA. (Late news: TriSports is also planning some kind of bike swap on that day and maybe we should do that instead).
The Social committee is planning something for after Thanksgiving break.
The Sponsorship committee sees an opportunity in the hundreds of water bottles left behind after El Tour.
For the upcoming Anthem Sprint, Geoff Comp has kindly offered to let Tricats stay at his dad's place, which has a jacuzzi. Send a private message to Geoff if you want to do this.
The uniform fit kit is coming, says Squadra. It should be here at the next meeting. Underestimated prices are on the website already: actual price will be higher, because we did not add in an estimate on shipping, and price also depends on quantity (more for low quantity items). Get your money ready because we want to turn this around fast. The deadline will be one week after the fit kit arrives. If you want to try on the uniforms and cannot make the meetings, contact Krystle and you can go to her place to try on the fit kit.
This is the last meeting to pay for Nationals in advance. We need to register for our initial allocation of spots.
Tricats is playing Ultimate Frisbee on the mall after the meeting -- all are welcome.
Wear your Tricat t-shirt on Tuesdays, and promote the club. People notice.
Makko is working on setting up a Permanent Tricats Bike Swap, online, sort of like Craigslist. We have quite a bit of stuff donated from the last bike swap, as well as a very nice small Giant (ooh, irony) time trial bike that someone donated. We would love to sell this to someone on the team, actually, but if there are no takers we need to sell it to someone else.
We distributed a Holiday Goal sheet to help us stay motivated over the holidays, and keep the training going. If you just take the next few weeks off, or almost off, you will lose much of the cardio base you have been building.
Tell Adrienne Contos via private message if you donated something to the recent 4th Ave Bike Swap and want a fundraising point for it. She has so far gotten only very few messages.
Big news: we just learned of a fundraising opportunity that takes us to the Superbowl in Phoenix on Feb. 3. If we can get a group of 15, 25, 40, or 50 people we can interview for the chance to work (somehow) at the Superbowl. If we are selected we can earn $2250 (minus transportation costs). Many details are still unclear. The interview is on Dec. 2.
Tyr ran out of men's warmups, but they have the women's, so Krystle is looking to get Nike warmups for the men. More to come.
