Tricats will henceforth recognize "Tricat of the week" for someone in the club who has done something notable. This week's Tricat of the Week is Chris Green for eating the most pancakes last Saturday at the social.
We passed around a thank-you note for everyone to sign, which we will send to Makko's parents, for their wonderful hospitality and delicious breakfast last Saturday.
Aquathlon update: the race will be October 13. Everyone is encouraged to publicize and try to organize volunteers.
Training camp update: camp is at Patagonia. Bring camping gear (event committee will help organize this); it won't be too cold so you could probably get by with no tent, although it would be nice. We will not only train in swim, bike and run, also Brial will teach us some specific sport skills, and we will have a mini-triathlon there.
Don from Bargain Basement (on Fremont near 6th Street) will hold three bike skills clinics soon: Wednesday, 9/19 at 4 PM, Saturday 9/22 at 10 AM, and Wednesday 9/26 at 4 PM. Come and learn the essential skills of the bike: fixing flats, simple maintenance and repair on the chain and derailleur, and even how to true a wheel.
Sarah from Trisports.com spoke briefly about Trisports, the Trisports-Tricats connection, discounts, and about bike trainers. If we buy over 15 mag trainers we can get them for $110 each.
Greg Heden, a sports massage therapist, introduced himself, since many of us have needed and will need his help.
Finally we broke into committees (Event, Social, Fundraising, and Sponsorship) to elect coordinators and to work on various tasks, mostly associated with the training camp and the aquathlon.
